The library has subscribed to e-cast Education's internet based system for accessing television content, including much New Zealand programming.

Staff and students have different access to e-cast. Canterbury staff can download and use e-cast content for the educational purposes of this University, as allowed by our screenrights licence, and students may access the live stream content.

Login to: http://www.e-cast.co.nz/education/uoc_login.php to access both Ready to Watch (pre-recorded) and live stream content. Select the Ready to Watch tab to see what is on offer for all thirty one channels.

e-cast is accessible via KAREN, and those registered as KAREN users (including students with HOD approval) won't be charged for their e-cast traffic. To register use the KAREN Registration form available on the ICTS Request a Service page.

Staff are also able to ask that future broadcasts are captured, as e-cast is a request-based system relying on subscribers asking e-cast to record content off-air.

Any questions about using e-cast can be forwarded to Dave Clemens in the University Library
