Did you know... we have online encyclopaedias?

Our Encyclopedias page links to four online encyclopaedias:
  • Encyclopaedia Britannica (includes videos, news, quotations etc as well as encyclopaedia articles)
  • Oxford Reference Online (a set of subject encyclopaedias and dictionaries that can be searched simultaneously)
  • Te Ara (good for New Zealand subjects)
  • Wikipedia (good for pop culture and getting an overview of a subject - also fun to click 'edit' and improve articles yourself - but best not to trust it for serious research)
The first two are university subscriptions so if you're off-campus, login using your IT details; the last two are open access.
